Botan Ref Sheet

Presenting the usurper, Botan. This character will be appearing in the next installment of "Horse Tails" so I figured it was time to introduce him.

Age: 13
Sex: Stallion
Breed: Mustang x Lusitano
Height: 16hh
Appearance: Dark gray appaloosa, black mane and tail, mane and tail are constantly tangled and usually contain burrs and dried mud, hooves are chipped but still strong and sharp, fuzzy fetlocks and chin/jaw, fight scars all over body, eyes are too bright and appear slightly crazed at all times

Personality: Cruel and always angry with the world, will pick a fight over anything, does not care about any living creature other than himself, extremely dominant and will not tolerate any other stallion in his territory, completely fearless

History: Botan was born in the wild to a low ranking mare and spent the first year of his life in the safety of a large herd. When he was driven out of his home herd upon reaching maturity he was shunned by the established bachelor bands and spent most of his time hanging on the edge of their herds trying to win the other young stallions' acceptance. But he never did. Botan never had the tempering effect of being surrounded by his peers and therefore developed some terrible habits. He was quick tempered and destructive, constantly fighting with any horse who crossed his path whether it be stallion or mare. Or foal. He refused to attempt to gain a mare by sparring or simply winning her affection; instead he took to driving older stallions out of their own herd and taking the mares for himself. But Botan had no idea of the inner workings of a successful herd and eventually his mares either slipped away in the night or passed away. When that happened he would simply move on and abduct the next herd. Botan sired countless foals, but like his mares, they all vanished. Each time Botan lost another herd, his anger grew, slowly consuming the stallion.
Finally, he came upon a herd led by an aging chestnut-and-white medicine hat stallion...
