Autumn Light

Sketched out in January, this just sat in my WIP folder for quite a while. I wanted to do some sort of expansive field background but no idea what to do for the horse. I thought I had lost the reference and shaded without it...then found the ref photo tucked away and labeled with the photographer. I've been so disorganized!

Then `Crazy-Sparkles got her horse and I got obsessed with his coloration. It was fun trying to figure out how to recreate that sort of beautiful "frosting" her boy has. I ended up using a combination of self-made brushes and some of =Baringa-of-the-Wind's equine marking brushes. Also discovered an interesting way to paint grass...any thoughts on the style of grass? Personally I like it, though it was somewhat time consuming.
